One-on-One Tutorial Conversations

In his book, Fabric of Faithfulness, Steve Garber argues that one essential way to hold on to meaningful faith over a lifetime is to apprentice oneself to others who live well. This idea of “seeing over the shoulder and into the heart” of those who have proven themselves faithful across many areas of life lies at the heart of The Washington Institute’s on-going work to engage individuals in one-on-one conversations to think, ask questions and learn together about work and worship, belief and behavior.

At this point, one-on-one meetings are not possible for every person who demonstrates interest though our staff aims to be as responsive as they can be. It is important to note these meetings are not intended as vocational counseling or personal skills assessment, but rather as a place to work out more deeply rooted questions of faithfulness and commitment in daily life and work.
